Closeup of the new Super Tigre G.61 engine installed in my trusty Super Kaos.
The engine ran perfect right out of the box and it makes pretty good power.
Super Tigre rates it at 1.75HP @ 16,000 RPM. Since this photo was taken, I
added a Perry regulated fuel pump and a large-bore Perry carburetor.
Also, I took the time to tune the adjustable-length tuned muffler. These
modifications increased the power enough to allow the 11 x 7 prop to be
replaced with an 11 x 8. Speed and vertical performance are spectacular
to say the least.
Addendum: After surviving almost 20 years and hundreds of flights, I lost my
trusty Super Kaos to radio interference in July of 2005. Since I am so
fond of the Kaos, I immediately started construction of a Killer Chaos. |
